ZUNI FETISHES
In the Native American world all beings have special powers and a unique purpose in the scheme of Creation. Originally a stone or piece of wood that resembled a bear or some other animal was considered to be infected with that animals power. That power was enhanced by special honor and attention by the finder. Eventually the stone or wood image would be shaped to more exactly resemble the animal whose power it held. The more attention a fetish receives the more powerful it will be. Our logo is based on the Six Directional fetish of the Zuni Indians of New Mexico who have developed fetishes and fetish carvings as an art form.
